I've been working on a series of 4x6 collages called "My Home is My Haven". This is #1.

My cheapie dollar store lamp...I did not, however, recreate the layer of dust on my lamp. In my imagination, everything dusts itself. This rendition of my lamp inspired by the everyday matters weekly challenge.

Finished a really good read last night, although somewhat long... Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell.

I've filled in the first half of my February sketch grid. As you can tell, I've mostly been grabbing things out of my kitchen to sketch. I am so new to drawing that I get very excited when what I sketch even somewhat resembles what I am sketching! 

I made this Valentine for my dear hubby. 

My daughter's 6th birthday is this week, and she wanted a pizza party. Together we made the invitations, and she designed the artwork for the front of the invites. I love my little artgirl-in-training.  

everyday matters challenge, week of Feb 6 05

tin toy , inspired by a gluebooks daily prompt, "cars". I found it very fitting since that very day my hubby purchased a new truck. New to us, that is.

My attempts at learning the guitar...I have this horrible habit of getting very excited about learning something new or conquering some new medium or technique....Then lose interest once I mess with it a few weeks....So now my guitar now sits in my bedroom, sadly neglected, out of tune, and collecting dust. {sigh}. She reminds me every morning when I wake up that I ignore her, that I lost interest in her, that I laid her down like a boring book.

Current stuff...

I've been listening to an online radio station at work that plays only accoustic music. Very soothing. Makes me wish I was sitting on my back porch, barfoot and in my cutoffs.

I've been working my way thru The Artist's Way, by Julie Cameron. I'm so proud of myself, I've done my Morning Pages for eight days in a row!! And as silly as I felt when I began doing my morning pages, I can definitely feel a difference. I feel more together the rest of the day. Not sure how it works, but just glad it does.

Glue book entry from 2/2/05. I love the "Tuscan" colors. Warm colors always catch my eye and will probably be very dominant in my gluebook! 

This is the inside cover of my gluebook. I thought it was appropriate, since in essence, my glue book is a self portrait, too. 

This is me!  

I also dabble in carving my own stamps. Here's my very own chopmark, and I use it on everything....quilt labels, mail art, altered books, you name it.  

Here's my sketch grid for February. 2/1 is supposed to be a palm tree....yeah, I've got Florida on my mind as I sit here surrounded by shades of brown and gray in dreary Ohio.
